Hi there! Just found you guys! Are you guys kinda like VietChannel?? Do you do news about the whole Viet entertainment or just Vpop music only?? Keep up the awesome job at recommending great Vpop music! :)
Hello! (: We’re not exactly like VietChannel; at this stage we’re only going to be covering Vietnamese music as we don’t have enough time or resources to cover everything else. Maybe we’ll touch a bit on movies as well but we’ll see. VietChannel was awesome! Was pretty cut when they stopped the site. Hopefully OnestopVpop can keep up to par with them. Thanks for following and supporting! (:
I think I enjoy the performance more than the MV itself but I must say, they really pushed the boundaries; dancing on the moving vehicle, on the streets, and I love the industrial area during the dance break. I wish there was a higher quality video though.
Everything that's mentioned in your description are exactly my thoughts!! :O It really saddens me that a lot of people have negative opinions about V-Pop, especially other Viets. We gotta change that! To be honest, I was never really a fan of V-Pop until recently. It surprised me how much it has improved over the past few years :D I am so proud! I can't wait to see what Vietnam's music industry will be like in the future! I really support everything that you guys are doing! Thank you!! ^^
I know what you mean. Way back in the days I use to dislike Vpop and was embarrassed by it but why should I when it’s improved so much. And like you mentioned, it’s a lot of the Vietnamese communities that still speak negatively towards their own music. Sad ): I think Viet music is at their strongest right now. I’m really excited to see what vpop can offer in the future too! Thanks for supporting =)
Mi-A is the first female solo artist being trained under VAA. She’s currently 19, turning 20 on the 17/10, and will be debuting some time this year. She also appears in 365’s documentary and the Let’s Go Party MV. What do you think? I like her attitude, her dancing is adequate, and she’s got some swag going on. All eyes were on her when I watched the clip; sorry Will!
For those who are unfamiliar with 365, Addy is their music producer while Will and Tronie have the position of rappers in the group. Will is also one of the lead localists - I’d prefer him stick to that than rapping in this song though; his rapping sounded like Thai in some lines. I like the MV; I think it looks really fun and great quality except the girls wreck it. The female trainees of VAA also make a cameo appearance at the beginning and towards the end of the MV.
I’ve been putting this off for a while because I wanted to save the best for last (so to speak). If there’s any artist that would make me want to promote vpop to everyone, it’s definitely 365! (365daband). They formed through an open casting audition by VAA - Vietnam Artist Agency; an entertainment company founded by model, actress, and singer, Ngô Thanh Vân. They went through rigorous training, which can be seen in their documentary, and finally debuted in September 2010. When it comes to their music; fashion; and training, their style is the first to be seen in the Vpop music scene which has been gaining them lots of attention and fans from all over the world. Check them out!
There is no doubt they’ve been influenced by kpop seeing how big they are in the Asian music industry, but do not mistaken being influenced to being a total copy or rip off. They look up to korean artists and try to follow their methods as a learning experience. Everyone does this so don’t be prejudice towards Vpop alone.
I’ve been a fan since they posted covers and dancing on their youtube channel prior to their debut. I’m also a strong supporter of them so if ever I see hater/unreasonable comments towards or about them, you’re just asking to feel my wrath. If you think they look like a kpop boy group, then what the heck is a vpop boy group suppose to look like?
Listen to her sing a Vietnamese version of Taeyeon’s If. I actually didn’t recognise the song at first because the piano sounded so different, but the song itself and her voice sounds really nice here. I like it! What do you think?
I think we can all agree that she just radiates with beauty. I think her voice is really nice and sweet but she some how lacks technique and strength. Since she’s still new to singing, she has plenty of time to train her voice so I’ll be looking forward to her future music activities (:
Want to listen to good Vpop music? Well you've come to the right place, as we can definitely assure you that there is great Vpop out there! You just need to know where to look, who to listen to and who not to listen to.
Our main purpose is to spread a positive name to Vpop music! Here we will attempt to keep you updated with satisfying Vietnamese pop music & entertainment, mainly from Vietnam, as well as recommend great songs of the old and new! We're not professional writers, nor do we claim to know everything about Vpop, but we will/do try our best.
At the end of the day, we all want Vpop to improve right? Instead of being ashamed, embarrassed, or angry over the bad Vpop there is, I think we should support and harness the good Vpop that exists, because it's important to acknowledge that artists out there are giving their best to establish a distinct style in Vpop (:
